Xbox One game releases for November 2014

Tons of Xbox One games to be thankful for

How’s your wallet holding up? After an incredibly busy October which wrapped up with the release of highly anticipated Xbox One exclusive, Sunset Overdrive, we flip the calendar to November. This month promises even more blockbusters, with Activision’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare kicking things off with a bang. Here’s what’s coming to Xbox One in November 2014:

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare – November 4, 2014

The eleventh primary installment in Activision’s long-standing Call of Duty series, Advanced Warfare is the first to be developed by Sledgehammer Games. Looking to breathe some life into a franchise many consider to be getting stale, Advanced Warfare takes players to the year 2054. Taking ideas and projects that exist today, Sledgehammer Games envisioned a future with cloaking aircraft, twin-rotor drones, hover bikes, “spider” tanks, specialized weapons, and soldiers powered by exoskeleton suits that allow them to move faster and in ways never seen in a Call of Duty game.

Rocksmith 2014 – November 4, 2014

The latest installment of Ubisoft’s music-based video game, Rocksmith 2014 lets players plug in virtually any electric or bass guitar and rock out. Rocksmith 2014 offers three different development paths for lead, rhythm, and bass guitar. Intended as more of a teaching tool than the original game, it also includes the ability to set song difficulty as well as more than 85 lessons that cover bends, accents, slides, and more.

The Wolf Among Us – November 4, 2014

The Wolf Among Us is Telltale’s episodic adventure based on Bill Willingham’s Fables comic book series. The first season, which consists of five episodes, puts you in the role of Bigby Wolf, the sheriff of Fabletown — a rundown area located in modern-day Manhattan which now plays home to relocated fairy tale characters — tasked with solving a murder.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection – November 11, 2014

Prepare for next year's release of Halo 5: Guardians by replaying all of Master Chief's previous adventures. Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a compilation of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4, remastered for Xbox One. Halo 2, in particular, has received an Anniversary treatment, giving it a similar graphical overhaul that we saw with the Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. What's neat is players are able to swap between the original and enhanced graphics of Combat Evolved and Halo 2 on-the-fly. Cutscenes have also been enhanced, with new, additional scenes added.

Assassin’s Creed Unity – November 11, 2014

The seventh major installment in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series, Unity is the first to be released exclusively on next-gen systems. Set within Paris during the French Revolution, the single-player story follows Arno Dorian in his efforts to uncover and expose the true powers behind the Revolution. Assassin’s Creed Unity ditches the series’ traditional competitive multiplayer in favor for a cooperative mode that allows players to work together on certain missions.

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham – November 11, 2014

Well, it’s another LEGO Batman game. Expect solid, puzzle/action-adventure mechanics, over 150 characters from the DC Universe, and traditional LEGO humor. As for plot, Brainiac is attempting to use the powers of the Rings of each Lantern Corps to take over the universe by shrinking planets to add to his collection. It’s up to you to stop him.

Shape Up – November 11, 2014

Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 – November 13, 2014

FIFA 15’s only true rival, Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 now includes an increased number of players that look and play like their real-life counterparts. Konami has recreated over 1,000 players this year, complete with accurate animations and similar playing styles to real life. Teams will also automatically adopt their real-life game plan, making for an even more accurate simulation.

Dragon Age: Inquisition – November 18, 2014

BioWare’s newest action role-playing game, Inquisition looks to fuse elements of both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2. The game is said to feature larger environments with much more opportunity for exploration. Much of the plot is still a mystery, though the overall theme is around “saving the world from itself.”

Far Cry 4 – November 18, 2014

Ubisoft’s open-world action-adventure first-person shooter sends you to the wild and untamed region of the Himalayas. Playing as Ajay Ghale, an English-speaking Nepalese native who returns to Kyrat to scatter his mother’s ashes, you get caught up in a civil war as the natives struggle under the regime of self-appointed king Pagan Min.

Grand Theft Auto V – November 18, 2014

Given the record-breaking sales of GTA 5 on Xbox 360 and PS3, odds are you’ve already played Rockstar’s open-world, action-adventure title. But with promises of a more immersive, detailed world — which includes increased draw distance and higher resolution — you’re probably going to want to return to Los Santos and Blaine County. For players migrating from last-gen to Xbox One, Rockstar promises all kinds of exclusive content.

WWE 2K15 – November 18, 2014

The next-gen version also as an exclusive MyCareer mode which will "take players through the life of a prospective WWE Superstar, allowing them to experience the journey of being a rookie and working toward the ultimate goal of winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship." The Xbox One version will also be displayed in 1080p and run at 60 frames per second, versus the Xbox 360 version which is displayed at 720p and runs at 30 frames per second.

Never Alone – November 18, 2014

Developed by Upper Oen Games, Never Alone is an “atmospheric puzzle platformer” which sees you swap  etween an Iñupiaq girl named Nuna (who can pick up things and open new areas using her bola) and her arctic fox (really fast) to complete puzzles in an effort to restore balance in the “eternal blizzard.”
