Check out Warframe’s space combat update with Archwing

Warframe never ceases to amaze me. It's easily one of the most impressive Free-to-Play titles, offering an amazing amount of content that's never locked behind any sort of paywall, and gives every player a chance to acquire any item, given that they put in enough work to gather the required materials. Yes, Warframe is a game that's ultimately about the grind, but I find myself constantly forgetting that, since the actual gameplay aspect of it constantly overshadows it.

I reviewed Warframe nearly a year ago when it launched on the PS4, giving it a solid 8/10. If we updated review scores, it would without a doubt be higher by now. Updates like finally giving a comprehensive tutorial system to teach new players the basics, and new ship hub with adds another layer of personalization to the game, constantly improve the game, and make it more accessible. Now fans can look forward to the next update, which will add the Archwing, in late October.

If you ever thought your cyborg space ninjas needed more actual space in their daily routine, this update fixes that. The Archwing is a new type of equipment that attaches to your Tenno, and allows for full, 360 degree free flight around space. While I was only able to get a hands-off demo from the devs, it looked absolutely exhilarating. Your fast and nimble ninja now translates his agile moves to space, where you can perform speedy dodges, stop in place and unleash a barrage of bullets, and space-ballet around enemies with absolute fluidity. It was beautiful.

The Archwing will introduce completely new scenarios to the game, some which might concentrate on just space battles, but also hybrid missions, where you can start off on foot inside a space station, and then later strap on the Archwing and head out into space to take out a fleet of starfighters.

There will also be further customization to the Archwing, once again adding another layer of personalization, but aside from that, there will be multiple iterations of the Archwing, each one looking aesthetically different. While their range of movement will remain largely the same, they will look vastly different from one another, and have different defensive and offensive abilities.

The Archwing Update is scheduled to hit Warframe late October for PC, and just a few weeks later on consoles. Make sure to check out the gameplay video and see the beauty of space combat as an agile ninja.
