If you are a fan of the sniping and stealth genre like me, you already know Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is going to be a great follow up to the first game. The dev team stated they have improved the gameplay from the first game, which sold over 2 million copies.
Getting a chance to play the game only solidified my excitement for this game and left me wanting more. Using CryENGINE 3 technology will not only improve your gameplay experience but also improve AI interaction. There will no longer be that single dude with an AK-47 firing from the hip from 300 meters out with precision. All environments are based on real world locations and the fight takes you into Urban, Jungle, and mountain environments.
Fans wanted to see this game take a different approach and they wanted to really play the role of a sniper. Well City Interactive listened and Ghost Warrior 2 is going to be completely stealth driven. They have taken out assault mode and you are now taking on the role of a genuine sniper. One of the new features in the game is the addition of a spotter. Most snipers don’t work alone and neither will you. Your spotter will spot targets and mark them so you are able to see them and eventually take them out with a well-timed bullet between the eyes.
Just like the first one, the realistic ballistics allows you to aim just as if you were a real sniper using the wind speed and distance to make the shot. The game will let you customize how you realistic you want the settings to be, so if you want it to be ultra realistic, you have that option.
Bulletcam is back but it is not overused. It is a reward used for the perfect shot and it is still extremely gratifying. We asked whether there would be an option for co-op since spotters are now an integral part of the gameplay. We were told that the game would be strictly single-player. Let’s face it, the spotter would be so bored out of this damn mind, he would want his buddy to shoot him as well.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is leading the sniper genre at this point and it doesn’t look like they are slowing down anytime soon. Someone is going to have to try pretty hard to dethrone them but I don’t see it happening anytime soon. So make sure you come back to GameZone to check out more details about Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2.
