Metal Slug Advance – GBA – Preview

Since
its inception, the Metal Slug series has been committed to offering up a
fantastic old school blend of arcade action and old-school side scrolling in a
nice package.  Metal Slug Advance marks the series’ first entry to the Game Boy
Advance arena.  Keeping in line with the series, Metal Slug Advance will offer
six missions with four mini stages including underground dungeons, ruins,
caverns, volcanic regions and subterranean lakes, as well as hidden bonus
missions along the way.

In another added bonus, you
will be able to have a hostage file which will keep track of the hostages that
your character has already rescued.

However, the biggest addition
to the Metal Slug formula is the use of E-cards.  Usable with your E-Reader,
Metal Slug E-Cards allow the gamer to enhances you abilities, thereby helping
you complete the mission.

The graphics in Metal Slug
Advance were pretty much right on with the arcade versions, which was definitely
a good thing.  The 2D sprites were extremely detailed and well animated, and the
environments had a unique hand drawn look about them.

All in all Metal Slug
Advance is shaping up to be a GBA title level to its arcade predecessor.  Look
for it in mid-August.
