Zombie killing games never lose their flavor. Gamers out there have played
hundreds of these games, and have never got tired of them. So, why not make a
downloadable zombie killer. People have, but it was just a matter of time before
they made one as good Burn Zombie Burn! on the PlayStation Network which is
available through the PlayStation 3.
Burn Zombie Burn! is a zombie killing game at its best. It stars Bruce, the main
character whose hair looks very familiar to Jimmy Neutron’s, the zombies, and
pure annihilation. The game offers a lot for a small price tag.
There are six environments you can cut loose Bruce in, which are themed after
common horror movie sites such as a graveyard, a drive-in, etc. Don’t worry though,
Bruce is offered plenty of protection from his arsenal of zombie-killin’
weapons. There is a great selection of weapons from typical weapons such as
baseball bats and chainsaws to my favorite, the flamethrower. Oh, and you will
need them. Zombies start off in small numbers, but grow at a very, very fast
rate. The basic goal is to kill as many zombies as you can in a given amount of
lives or in a time limit. This may seem simple at first, but it can get quite
difficult and takes a good amount of strategy to kill that many zombies. It is a
good kind of difficulty though that will have you back in your gaming chair time
and time again killing a zillion zombies.
Burn
Zombie Burn! offers tons of guns to the player, creative environments, and
hilarious zombies. For a downloadable game, this one really delivered. It offers
an interesting way to get the player involved in the game. Based on a “if you
get the score, you get the reward” type deal, you are required to get a certain
score to unlock other environments and the multiplayer that allows you to play
with your friends. This was a good idea as it immediately will hook some gamers
into scoring high enough to unlock everything.
It
also brings some hilarious types of zombies for you to wreak havoc upon. There
are zombies with tutus that like to dance, zombies dressed as football players
that rush you, and even zombies that explode when you shoot them. This
creativity and design of the zombies brings a hilarious experience to the
gameplay that anyone would love.
Everything sat well with this zombie beat down title. The
graphics were great for what they were. It was crisp and clear, and you
could see everything you were doing on the screen. The sound was there as
well, with nice weapon sound effects and a great opening menu song. But
what really put this game over the edge had to be the gameplay. Running
around killing zombies in various and hysterical ways while still maintaining a
sense of strategy and seriousness
around a completely hilarious game was a special experience you don’t always
have in downloadable games.
Burn
Zombie Burn! is a unique game experience that you and your friends will love
playing again and again. It is the kind of title you continue to pick up over
and over again and it will never get old. It doesn’t have the content a full
retail game would have, but for $9.99, it is a must-have downloadable game on
your PlayStation 3.

There
are plenty of downloadable games that just look ridiculous, but this one is
different. It offers beautiful and crispy clear graphics that work perfectly
with the over-the-top view shooter.

Great
gun sound effects and music make the sound work great with setting the horror
themes and the mayhem of killing presented.

The
concept has been done before on a number of games, but Burn Zombie Burn! made it
great.
