Guitar Hero 5 – PS3 – Review

With the
rhythm-based music genre veering away and into band-directed arenas the area for
improvement seems rather large and in many ways, give Guitar Hero 5 a nod for
its improvements in numerous areas.

But let’s
face it, the core of these games is the song list, and in that regard Guitar
Hero 5 falls short. This soundtrack misfires on several levels. If you hop into
the career mode, the first songs on the list can be obscure, but also feel short
in length. There are no anthems here – much like were available on the Metallica
GH release. It is easy to see what the dev team was doing, and the effort is
very much appreciated, but this track list simply did not connect with several
people offered the chance to test-drive the game. One teen even asked “can we
just play World Tour?”
