I’ve had the opportunity to use plenty of self-proclaimed gaming mice, but Logitech’s G302 Daedalous Prime is unlike any I’ve ever used before. It’s small; it’s sleek; it’s incredibly simple, yet very effective in what it does.
Like I said, I’ve been exposed to plenty of gaming mice — many of them with countless buttons that can be mapped to perform all your keyboard shortcuts. The G302 Daedalus Prime features just six programmable buttons, and really that’s more than enough.
Rather than focusing on the number of buttons they can pack onto the mouse, Logitech instead chose for a simple design, emphasizing accurate tracking and responsive buttons. The G302 Daedalus Prime is said to be tuned to “pro-gamers specifications.” Logitech worked with numerous members of pro-MOBA teams to fine tune the mouse and it definitely feels that way.
While accurate tracking and durability is important in every game, it’s especially important for MOBAs. Having playing League of Legends regularly, with the G302 Daedalus Prime and other mice, the most noticeable difference was definitely with the clicking. A metal spring tensioning system allows for both fast clicking and improved response. Should the mouse be a little too sluggish, or maybe too responsive, you can shift on-the-fly through up to 4 DPI settings from 240DPI to up to 4000 DPI.
If I had one thing to complain about with this mouse, it would be the design. While I love the sleekness of it, these hands are used to slightly larger mice. Again though, as a mouse designed around the feedback of professional MOBA players, I’m sure there’s a large group of gamers who prefer a smaller mouse, especially overseas in countries like South Korea. I suppose the smaller size is beneficial in that it doesn’t allow me to get lazy with my clicking.
The Logitech G302 Daedalus Prime is definitely one of the more simpler mice I’ve used, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. As a mouse designed for MOBAs, you don’t need all those flashy bells and whistles. What’s important is the accuracy and responsiveness, and Logitech nailed both of those with this mouse. And that goes for any game, as well. This is a mouse that’ll satisfy all of your gaming needs.
