Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex Gaming Mouse review

Sometimes less is more when it comes to gaming mice — especially when playing something that requires a lot of precision. For instance, when playing MOBAs, you want your clicks to be quick and precise. You have no use for 20 buttons on the side and paddles and switches. Just some stylized glow and superior parts are what you should be looking for. And that’s exactly what the Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex gaming mouse has.

We’ve reviewed the G302 Daedalus Prime about seven months ago, and while the look is the same, barely anything else is. But let’s start with the look and form for comfort. The G303 is a smaller mouse. I’m used to using a larger mouse that fills out my palm. It is comfortable to use, but I find myself using more of a tip grip than palm or claw. The lighting though — wow. The rear sides of the G303 light up in a honeycomb pattern, which you can see in a pattern lit up on your mousepad. Using the Logitech Gaming Software, you’ll be able to customize the lighting with a choice of up to 16.8 million colors and the type of lighting effect you want. I just love the way it looks.

Button-wise, the G303 Daedalus Apex gives you six programmable buttons, which you can also customize in the software. There is a DPI button that can cycle five DPI settings settings, from 200 DPI to 12,000 DPI. If you require more mouse buttons for a game like Battlefield or World of Warcraft, this isn’t the mouse for you, but the quality of the parts are top notch. This lightweight mouse features a metal spring button tensioning system, mechanical microswitches, and a PMW3366 optical sensor for accuracy. The sensor allows for no pixel rounding, so the DPI you’re assigning is the DPI you’re getting. It’s also very responsive across all DPI settings. Through the software, you’ll be able to adjust surface tuning and input analysis also.

Across all of the games I played, especially Heroes of the Storm, the G303 Daedalus Apex performed admirably. The responsiveness was definitely there, and the was a nice springy feel to the constant clicking. The mouse is very lightweight, and while I’m still not quite used to the size, my five-year-old son appreciated it. At $69.99, this is the perfect mouse for the gaming enthusiast and gamers into eSports that want accuracy, performance, responsiveness and quality over bells and whistles and mice that look like Transformers had a baby.
