Capcom Says Resident Evil 5 DLC Was Not on Disc
kombo -
Like many people, I speculated a while ago that the Resident Evil 5 DLC was so small that you were probably just unlocking content that was already there. Well Capcom has decided to clear the air about this misunderstanding.
Capcom vice president Christian Svensson brought it up on the Capcom Unity forums, basically telling those who thought the DLC was an unlock code were wrong.
"Keys are 100K or less. It is not a key," Svensson says. "We have said in the past, it uses assets from the disc (like levels, models, audio, etc.) but the code is new and does not exist on the disc."
I'm sure he knows way more about it than I do, so I won't argue with him. It doesn't change the fact that the download was only 1.86 MB, but the DLC is only $4.99 anyway. Let's hear from people who have tried it. Did Resident Evil 5 even need a versus mode?
